EntréeLink Is Back: Hyperlocal Restaurant Delivery for Northern Palm Beach County
I have spent most of my working life getting restaurant food from the kitchen to the customer while it is still worth eating. EntréeLink is coming back, and before I ask any restaurant to trust us with their food, I want you to know where we come from.
Where I learned delivery
In 1989, PepsiCo launched delivery at Pizza Hut. I was one of the original delivery training managers on that rollout. Over five years with PepsiCo, I helped shape the procedures and logistics that turned a dine-in brand into a serious delivery operation: how orders flow through the kitchen, how drivers are dispatched, and how you keep food hot and on time at volume.
That experience taught me something I still believe. Good delivery is not about the car. It is about the system behind it.
Takeout Taxi in Fort Lauderdale
One night in August 1994, I saw a man wearing a shirt that said Takeout Taxi. The company had just opened in Fort Lauderdale, delivering meals from local restaurants that did not have their own drivers. I asked him about it, then went to meet the franchise owner. Shortly after, I became general manager, and in 1998 I bought the company. I ran it until I sold my interest in December 2001.
The original EntréeLink
In February 2002, I started EntréeLink in Aventura. It was an online ordering and delivery service built around eight local restaurants and a small, affluent market that expected personal service. We kept it small on purpose so every order could be handled well.
EntréeLink made its mark as the first company to specialize in room service replacement for upscale limited-service hotels in the Aventura area. Those hotels had beautiful rooms and no kitchen. We gave their guests a real dinner menu from the best restaurants nearby. Our business looked like this:
- Hotel room service replacement: about 40 percent
- Group Meal Solutions, our corporate lunch program: about 30 percent
- Residential dinners: the remaining 30 percent
I sold EntréeLink in 2006.
Why bring it back now
Delivery has grown into a giant business since then, but a lot of restaurants feel like they lost something along the way. The big national apps charge commissions that commonly run 15 to 30 percent of each order, send food across wide delivery zones, and stand between the restaurant and its own customers.
The new EntréeLink goes the other direction. It is hyperlocal: a tight service area, short trips, and a partner who knows the roads, the gated communities, and the restaurants by name. We are starting in:
- Palm Beach Gardens
- Jupiter and Jupiter Island
- Tequesta
- Juno Beach and North Palm Beach
- Hobe Sound and nearby southern Martin County
What restaurants can expect
EntréeLink is a concept tailored to each restaurant in its local market. That means a delivery program shaped around your menu, your hours, and your guests, with a real person you can call. The same three kinds of business that built the original EntréeLink, hotel guests, office lunches, and dinners at home, all exist here in northern Palm Beach County, and they are looking for better options than they have today.
We are looking for a small group of restaurants to launch with. If you own or manage a restaurant in our area and want to talk about it, I would like to hear from you.
